He is our true north, bringing talent, clarity, and vision to everything we create.
Jeff is Board Chair of Design Museum, Board Vice Chair of the American Association of Advertising Agencies/New England, and past board member of the Luxury Marketing Council. A Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award nominee, Jeff’s work has been recognized by organizations including The Ad Club, The Art Director’s Club, the Davey Awards, Graphis, the Telly Awards, and REBRAND.
Prior to starting Proper Villains, Jeff founded Monahan & Rhee, a branding firm with offices in New York and Boston that delivered award-winning work for some of the world’s leading lifestyle and luxury brands including Vera Wang, Bang & Olufsen, Godiva, Wedgwood, NEST Fragrances, and Hartmann.
He was the founder of Alchemy Creative Studios, an agency whose work is included in the permanent collections of the AIGA National Design Archives, the Smithsonian, and the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. Jeff’s preamble to Alchemy was as Managing Partner and Creative Director of Pisces, a digital postproduction house, where he directed work on behalf of the Boston Red Sox, Coldwell Banker, The DeWolfe Companies, Discovery Channel, John Hancock, and McDonald’s.
